a letter from our

Chapter President

Greetings from the Alpha Nu chapter of Alpha Chi Omega! My name is Chloe Lykken and I currently serve as the 2022 Chapter President. I am so happy that you are here to check out our website and learn more about our one-of-a-kind chapter.

I am absolutely ecstatic for the opportunity to brag about my sisters here at Alpha Nu. Their determination and passion is endless; factors that are continuously represented throughout their significant involvement here at the University of Missouri. From extremely challenging courses, sport clubs, Professional Fraternities, Student Boards, Steer Committees, ROTC, Tour Team, Service Fraternities, Mizzou Alternative Breaks, to Golden Girls and more, Alpha Nu emulates what it truly means to be a Real, Strong Woman. I could not be more honored to serve a group of such impeccable women.

Not only are these women determined and passionate, but also courageous, humble, loving and the epitome of what I strive to become as an individual. They are the reason Alpha Nu has been able to make such an incredible impact on the Greek community at the University of Missouri. Through Alpha Nu's philanthropic efforts this past year for the local beneficiary of True North, we were able to raise $62,895! This could not have been accomplished without the remarkable women behind the little red door and their desire to do immaculate things for the Columbia community.

The day that I joined the family of Alpha Nu, I knew these women were going to change my life forever. I finally found the support system that would push me out of my comfort zone, hold my hand when times seemed unbearable and surround me with unfailing love. Each and every day, I am inspired to emulate yet another phenomenal characteristic that these women possess. The qualities these women withhold are qualities that have not only influenced my life in an incredible way, but are continuously benefitting the lives of those in this community and those attending the university.

I am currently in my second year here at the university, studying journalism with a double minor in Spanish and Textile and Apparel Management. I have a strong desire to utilize my collegiate years for the opportunity to grow as an individual, develop long-lasting friendships, experience challenging obstacles that will teach me important life lessons and make memories that will last a lifetime. Coming from Minnesota, I was terrified that I would not find my people. I was in awe of how wrong I was at the very second I stepped foot through the doors of Alpha Nu. These women remind me each and every day of how grateful I am for the opportunity to experience this sisterhood.

At the beginning of my Greek journey, I had no idea I would be given the privilege to serve as Chapter President of this chapter. However, because of the never ending encouragement from my sisters and their desire to see me excel in leadership aspects, I am more confident than ever that this is where I am meant to be. Alpha Chi Omega has offered me so many beautiful things including forever friendships, countless opportunities to excel in different areas, a chance to step out of my comfort zone, but most of all: a home away from home.

Alumnae, sisters, and those that are interested in joining our beautiful sisterhood, please feel free to reach out to me with any questions you may have. You are always welcome at 900 Richmond Avenue, behind our little red door.
